How to fix “style.css missing” error while uploading themes?

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a “Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This is because the theme download package on ThemeForest includes additional files to the theme such as the documentation, license etc.

To solve this simply unzip the theme package you downloaded from ThemeAvailable and upload the themename.zip file which is included (with the file being the name of the theme).

How can I hide license reminders or usage keys?

Consider hiding the license activation reminders through a plugin like WP Nag Hide This plugin is free and very popular in the WordPress community. Make sure to check the official documentation for more information!

An item I downloaded is asking for a registration code. What to do?

Ignore it. Developers include these so that the plugin or theme can update automatically or so that you can register for support or in some cases to import the premium templates (which is not needed by majority of users). The item itself will work perfectly fine without anything being entered in the box. We would recommend updating your theme/plugins manually when updates become available on our site.

How to Update Theme/Plugin
  1. Download and Install Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades plugin on your WordPress website.
  2. Activate the above-mentioned plugin.
  3. Download the new version of the plugin or theme you want to update from GPLTimes.
  4. Log into your WordPress Admin Panel / Dashboard.
  5. Go to “Plugins > Add New” in case of plugin OR “Appearance > Themes > Add New” in case of theme.
  6. Click the “Upload Plugin” or “Upload Theme” button, as the case may be.
  7. Select the zip file with the new plugin or theme version to install.
  8. Click the “Install Now” button.
  9. After the process is successful, press “Activate” plugin or theme.
